Both the Health Care Law Blog and the Health Care IT Guy have follow ups on the long post here on EMRs and whether docs ever can love ‘em. I’ll say little more other than I feel a little like we’re in one of those Warner Bros cartoons where Tazzy is chasing his own tail….especially as this post now automatically appears over at Shahid Shah (The Health Care IT Guy)’s meta-HealthIT blog, the HITSphere….
But I’m not sure that I like Shahid’s take on my business model, and I’m not sure I like it either!
Isn’t the blogosphere and the Internet wonderful? It would take thousands of dollars and months to put together a focus group of professionals to get us this kind of input. Now, Matthew’s given it to us health IT guys for free. Thanks, Matthew

WE INSTALLED A PROGRAM IN OUR OFFICE CALLED SOAPWARE – SAVE YOUR MONEY DOCS!! – THIS IS THE WORSE PROGRAM EVER WRITTEN – BASICS LIKE SPELL CHECKERS DONT WORK CORRECTLY – YOU CANT EVEN RIGHT CLICK TO CUT AND PASTE WITH A MOUSE – THERE ARE SO MANY FAULTS YOU CANT POSSIBLY LIST THEM ALL . THE PROGRAM IS BASICALY A BUNCH OF MACROS THAT THEY WNAT YOU TO MEMORIZE OR CREATE – ITS LOOKS LIKE IT WAS WRITTETN ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO – AND THE COST – ITS A TOTAL COME ON – I THNK THEY UISE TO SELL VACUUM CLEANERS -YEA ITS $300 TO START BY THE TIME YOU NUY WHAT YOU NEED TO RUN THE PROGRAM IT WILL COST YOU OVER $5000 – ITS A PIECE OF GARBAGE STAY AWAY!!!!
Allan, given the success (er…lack of success) of EMRs in the healthcare world pretty, we can use pretty much any help we can get.
Bob, as a lawyer I’m sure you only posed questions because you want to charge us about $790 per hour for the answers. 🙂 [kidding!]
Matthew, your business model of “giving away” free analysis will work fine for a couple of years. Just like us dotcom dropouts from 1998 to 2001. Like that era we’ll all look for jobs after we run out of money giving away free advice!
I’m not in the industry, so using me as an authoritative source would be amusing. However, if anyone needs assistance from a finance/telecom/strategy person who thinks he gets this stuff…
Matthew & Shahid,
Why do you think the lawyer of the group only poses more questions?
