For anyone who wants to know what it’s like to be taken prisoner and detained, “Enemy Combatant: My Imprisonment at Guantanamo, Bagram, and Kandahar” is an excellent first-person account by Moazzam Begg, a British citizen.

Matthew, that’s a great list. Another legal one I recommend strongly is The Center for Constitutional Rights. They’ve done a lot of work coordinating representation for Guantanamo detainess.
They’ve also taken a stand against mass incarceration, much of which is due to the War on (Some People Who Use Some Classes of) Drugs, as you know.
