The Medical Director is responsible for the overall medical quality of
A.D.A.M.’s entire consumer health information product line. This
individual will provide strong clinical leadership, oversee all
editorial standards, and seek continual editorial improvements. The CMO
represents and explains A.D.A.M.’s editorial processes to clients. The
position reports to top management, but is also deeply involved in
daily editorial and product development work. We are looking for
someone who has a passion for educating and empowering patients and
consumers, and who has a personal sense of mission to help people
better understand and manage their health. The successful candidate
will help reach and transform the lives of millions of people in the
changing landscape of healthcare.
Responsibilities:

Review and oversee the work of editors, writers, and reviewers to
ensure medical accuracy and timeliness of A.D.A.M.’s online tools and
content
* Ensure A.D.A.M.’s consumer health information is in
agreement with major guidelines and A.D.A.M.’s evidence-based hierarchy
of sources
* Continually review existing content to identify potential improvements
* Serve as a daily resources for questions and issues from the editorial and visual production teams
* Meet with clients, oversee editorial interactions with clients, address client concerns
* Serve as Chair of A.D.A.M.’s Medical Advisory Board; recruit new board members as needed
* Ensure A.D.A.M. is in compliance with URAC, HIPAA, and other accreditations as necessary
* Participate in planning sessions to help guide the strategic vision and direction of A.D.A.M.’s product line
* Write or review content as needed
* Create white papers or other publications, perform presentations at conferences
* Network with physicians in multiple specialty areas to get the best involved with A.D.A.M.
Qualifications:

It is essential that the candidate have the ability to translate
medical concepts to lay audiences and write in consumer friendly
language
* Extreme attention to detail in both medical accuracy and grammar
* Exceptional skills in data analysis and research interpretation
* Familiarity with trends in consumer-directed health plans a plus
Experience:
* Exceptional communication skills and proven experience in writing and editing, with experience creating consumer content ideal
* Management experience and ability to coach and mentor an editorial team
* 5+ years clinical practice experience
* Licensed physician; Board Certified in ABMS specialty
* Previous experience with HIPAA compliance a plus
* Managed care experience a plus
