Your post on Spot-on is well, spot-on.
I only wish more people would talk about the insanity of our “war” on drugs. And I’d urge everyone reading your piece to click on the link to the “prison-industrial complex.”
I’d add only that anyone who isn’t convinced should rent the last season of “The Wire”–available on Netflix. “The Wire” is co-written by a former Baltimore cop and a former Baltimore Sun reporter who points out that “What drugs have not destroyed, the war on them has.”
(BTW for anyone who hasn’t seen it, “The Wire” is top-drawer drama. Brilliantly written and acted, it’s better than “The Sopranos,” as good as “Homicide” or “Deadwood.” )
