Sermo is currently looking for
a full-time Release Engineer.  As a member of the Quality Engineering
team, this position is responsible for builds and deployments in addition
to creating and executing test plans.

Responsibilities

        – Create, automate, and  improve build and deployment processes        – Perform builds and
  deployments to test and production environments (JBoss, Linux, MySQL)         – Document and test deployment procedures for each release        – Work with development, operations, and support to debug build or runtime issues        – Backup, restore and upgrade MYSQL databases         – Develop and execute test plans based on functional requirements         – Write bug reports, validate and regress bug fixes

Requirements

        – B.Sc. or equivalent
  experience in Computer Science or similar technical field        – Strong UNIX shell programming
  skills (Bash, Perl, Batch scripting, etc.)        – Must have experience
  with Ant         – Experience with database
  management is a plus (MySQL)        – Solid understanding
  of version control systems (CVS/SVN)        – Experience with software
  quality engineering methodologies        – Excellent communication
  skills – able to interface with multiple groups across the company         – Ability to thrive in
  a dynamic, fast-changing, startup environment
