The Best Marketing Degree Programs
U.S. News & World Report rates business marketing programs at Penn, Michigan and Texas as the best in the nation. I will write my paper about rankings of colleges based on the best marketing degree programs.U.S. News & World Report publishes annual rankings of colleges based on several factors, such as degree level (undergraduate and graduate) and type (liberal arts colleges and master’s-granting universities, for example). U.S. News also ranks business schools at both the undergraduate and graduate level and then breaks those rankings down by specialty, with all rankings based on surveys of business school deans and senior-level business faculty.
According to U.S. News surveys, the business schools at the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Michigan, and the University of Texas are the top three schools for students interested in studying marketing.
University of Pennsylvania
The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business ranks at or near the top of many U.S. News business specialty rankings, and marketing is no exception. Business school deans and faculty have ranked Wharton the top undergraduate marketing degree program.
While all Wharton students graduate with a Bachelor’s of Science in Economics degree, undergraduates must choose at least one concentration. Marketing is among Wharton’s 21 concentrations, and students may also choose to pursue a dual concentration in Marketing and Communications. Students who study marketing at Wharton work under a faculty whose market research tools are currently being used by such corporate giants as Marriott Hotels and Shell Oil.
University of Michigan
U.S. News surveys put the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business in second place among undergraduate marketing programs. All Ross students study towards a Bachelor’s of Business Administration (BBA) degree but can take electives in marketing in order to tailor their degree.
Students who wish to customize their degree for a career in marketing can take 9 elective marketing courses as part of the major. Marketing electives include such courses as Pricing, Consumer Behavior, and International Marketing. Students can also benefit from co-curricular activities geared toward marketing, such as the BBA Marketing Club, the Entertainment and Media Club, and the Luxury Goods and Retail Club.
University of Texas
The University of Texas at Austin earns the third spot on the U.S. News & World Report list of top undergraduate marketing degree programs. Marketing is one of ten majors available to undergraduates in the McCombs School of Business.
While all McCombs undergraduates acquire a basic background in marketing through an upper-level business core course (Principles of Marketing), students who major in marketing get a broad background in the field through such courses as Global Marketing, Retail Merchandising, and Professional Selling and Sales Management.
According to the Write My Paper Bro reports, choosing the right college can be one of the most important decisions a student will make. Prospective undergraduates and their parents will want to not only look at school, degree, and specialty rankings from publications such as U.S. News & World Report, but will also want to measure those rankings against their own observations of the college’s website, promotional literature, and the college campus itself if the family is able to arrange a visit. Students and families should undertake careful research to determine the right college for them in terms of program offerings, student life, cost, and career opportunities after graduation.
