THCB offers a range of options for advertisers, ranging from text ads matched to content topics to classified posts that allow you to catch the attention of doctors, health care executives, consumers and other industry observers. We also offer display advertising that can be matched to the focus of your campaign by category and keyword.
Many of our supporters choose to become corporate supporters, underwriting the site for a period of a year or longer. Details and information on requesting a prospectus can be found below.
Book and Event Announcements
THCB is read closely by our healthcare-obsessed audience every business day. Classified postings run every Tuesday and Thursday on the front page and are a great way to reach healthcare professionals and consumers researching their healthcare choices The one time fee for an event listing, product announcement or job listing is $450, payable by credit card or paypal. Your post should use standard classified format. Length should be no more than 400 words.* Book announcements may include jacket image or author headshot.
Send submissions to THCB ad sales with the subject line Classified Posting. We’ll send a link with payment information.
Your listing will typically run within 24 hours of payment. We reserve the right to reject postings that violate our terms of use, promote an illegal activity or service. Remember to indicate what day you would like your post to run – either Tuesday or Thursday.
Job Listings
As a service to the community, THCB publishes healthcare job postings at the reduced rate of $250 per postings. Listings appear on the front page of the site. You’ll need to provide a plain text version of
your posting. Be sure to include a link to your application. If you want to include your logo, that’s fine. Your posting will also appear on the THCB Facebook group. If we know of somebody who might be good. If you’d like to purchase a pack of 5 postings or more, contact ad sales.
Text advertising
The runaway success of major advertising / search companies like Google and Facebook, has shown that there may be no form of messaging more effective than a short, focused message targeted at a carefly selected audience. The reason? Reach your audience while your focus is top of mind and your message will travel far and wide. THCB text ad units give you the ability to reach readers at their most receptive.
Our flat rate for a text unit is $250 monthly. If you’re willing to commit for a buy of 3 months, pricing drops to $495.
To reserve your unit email THCB ad sales with the subject line Text unit – and your desired tag. Indicate the tag you would like to target. Your unit should be up and in place within 24 hours of receipt of your payment.
Discounts for Startups and Non-profits
In certain cases, we may offer discounted pricing for both classified postings and/or text ads. To see if you qualify, send us an email at ad sales @ THCB.
Before you apply, take a moment to consider how your request will look. We want to help, but the laws of sanity and common sense apply.
If you’re a two person non-profit based in Chicago or an international group trying to change the world with a laptop and a flashlight, we can help. If you’re a multibillion non-profit health system, not so much.
Display Advertising
THCB offers 300 x 250 ad units and 125 x 125 ad units that run in the flow of posts on key subsections. You can choose to run a unit on the front page or in one of our main content channels. Due to the highly focused nature of our audience, we do not currently offer CPM buys. However, we offer agency standard commission rates on standard terms. 300 x 250 ad units
Sales of 300 x 250 units have been suspended and are offered to corporate underwriters only. If you’re interested in a higher visibility presence, look at our corporate sponsorship programs, described in detail below or request a prospectus.
125 x 125 ad units
Ad units appear in the sidebar of THCB’s front page. Placements are also available on content channels.
Buying a placement couldn’t be easier. Pricing for a one week run on the front page is $400.
We are currently accepting advertising in the tech, electronic medical record, health plan, op-ed and affordable care act sections.
A one week run in a category is $250. Your ad unit will typically go up within 24 hours of receipt. If you are a media buyer looking for quick turnaround on package pricing and availability, please try to get in touch before noon eastern standard time.
